Talansky Wins Collegiate National Road Race Championships

(May 12 , 2008)

Report filed by Toshia Cycling

Andrew Talansky donned his school colors this past weekend for the 2008 Collegiate National Championship, as he put up an impressive effort for Lees-McRae College.  Talansky, who just entered his freshman year of college in the fall, decisively won the Division I Road Race Championship, helping his team to an eventual DI team omnium championship.

"It is absolutely amazing," the 19-year old said.  "We came out here to prove we are the best.  There was a lot riding on our shoulders, and I just wanted to come out here, give it my best shot."

Bobby Sweeting also races for his collegiate team at the University of Florida.  Sweeting placed 31st due to an injury he received a few days before at the USA CRITS Speed Week; however, he was still able to make the breakaway containing TOSHIBA-Santo presented by Herbalife teammate, Talansky, helping him to his first Collegiate National Championship.
